Dallas Cup 29-UPDATE

The boys spent day 2 of Dallas Cup relaxing and avoiding the rain much like back home in Springfield. After a hard fought victory in their first game the day off on Tuesday was welcomed by many.

Wednesday, March 19th

The boys got to get back on the pitch today after a rain soaked Tuesday. Dallas Cup has an automatic rain day built in the schedule so that meant a showdown with the Tigres from Mexico. With the Tigres undefeated in both games so far that meant a must win game for SSC to get through to the knock out rounds. The games were shortened to 35 minute halves and the boys worked hard for all 70 of those minutes. After going down 1-0 at half they came out strong in the second half and had much of the play. They were unable to capitalize on any chances and gave up a goal late, mainly due to pushing up and getting numbers forward trying to tie up the game. The game ended 2-0 Tigres and SSC will now face Orange County Rage from California today for their final game at Dallas Cup.

We have a couple players working on write ups on their experience at the Dallas Cup so look for that next week. We will also post later today the result of their final game against the Rage. Stay Dry!!
