Thursday tidbits

Anyone get a chance to check out sgfsoccer.com and ole's recent article regarding local college players? Am I the only that sees a majority of those players being SSC Alumni!! It's a neat post and shows how well some of our alumni are performing in the college ranks. What a great thing for the younger players to look at and strive for. Highlighting the group is Patrick Carver who has led his Emory(GA) Eagles to a ranking of 12th nationally!!! Along with Carver, Brian Fishback(pictured) has been tearing it up with 9 goals at the University of Indianapolis leading them through a tough Great Lakes Valley Conference. A little known fact, did you know Emory is tied at 12th with Loras College(IA), the college of a certain SSC coach. If you can figure that out you know who is behind this blog....

After a rainy Wednesday night of training at the facility, practices went smoothly on a nice fall evening on Thursday. It was great to see all the action and training going on as all teams are deep into their Fall seasons!! In particular the HS girls are gearing up for some tournament and league action. Josh, Jeremy and Rob had the girls working hard and also made some people a little late to catch the start of the Cubs playoff game. All good things when you are receiving such good training from the areas top coaches. Rob has been busy this Fall leading the MSU Lady Bears soccer team and is getting ready for a big push in the Missouri Valley conference. Be sure to check out their result as they travel to Creighton this weekend in Omaha, NE.

Good luck this weekend to Rob and all SSC teams!!!
